The Grand Canyon
Rachel here! My younger sister and her boyfriend just took a trip out to visit us in AZ and taking them to the Grand Canyon while they were here was a nonnegotiable. A wonder of the world! So of course on the day of we had a shotgun start - coffees for the road, lunch sammies packed, and Head West gear in tow.
For kicks, we rented a Wrangler (via Turo) so that we could really feel the wind in our hair and breathe in that fresh air. As we entered the Park ($35 day-pass because yes, you do have to pay to enter the National Parks), we were on the edge of our seats just waiting to see the world drop off. Andrew more or less jumped out of the Jeep before we even had it in park! The view spoke for itself, it’s beyond memorizing and beyond, well, GRAND.
To get the real feel for this energy vortex, we took the South Kiabab trail down into the Canyon. Which is all fun and games until it’s time to turnaround and hike back up. Needless to say we inhaled our sandwiches and the Cherry Limeade Poppi brought Erinn back to life. During lunch break we got to chatting with a canyon local, this grandpa was putting MILES on his crocs - totally stunting and more power to him! We never got his name but decided he really looked like a Ned.
Did a detour through Sedona on our way back South to admire the red rock which is its own unreal piece of the Earth. VIEWS ON VIEWS ON VIEWS!!!!
Life is better when shared, hope the West won y’all over :)
All the best & HEAD WEST.
