San Diego, CA
A weekend on the coast! We were fired up to head out to San Diego, shoutout to our friends Wes and Alex, newly appointed SD locals, for the hospitality.
Coming from the Phoenix area we could fly or drive. Of course like the goofballs we are, we delayed this decision until flight prices spiked so we headed out on the 5hr drive. Nothing too crazy, pretty much a straight shot, was 100+ degrees for 90% of the way, and we waved to Mexico lol.
Once we got over the last set of hills the temp finally dropped 30-40 degrees and we saw the ocean, safe to say we were in heaven.
Saturday we did a group coffee walk then when Parker got to town (Hey Park!) we set out on what Rachel would describe as a “beach hike / trail / walk / path” but the sandy dunes, narrows slots, and sweat accumulation may have made it more of a Moderate Level Hike. If you are ever in the area do check out Black’s Beach! The views of the sea cliffs are epic, tons of surfers, and one special surprise you may find out when you get there.
After bopping through some of the neighboring towns for the rest of the morning, we settled into some time at the beach. The boys got to pick up a game of volleyball with a group that needed some heads, lucky for them too because Liam had a stellar nose dive to keep the ball in play.
Late night we saw an up and coming artist named BUNT. We had seen him play at a Taco Shop on Venice Beach last year which yes, was comedy. The vibes were high, the beats were dropping, and the street meat outside was heat.
It was a night out in the town! If you saw us going for a late night swim with a cowboy carrying McDonalds… no you didn’t.
To bring us back to life we had a major brunch situation. We couldn’t get our selves to leave! Had to squeeze in a little bit more time on the beach and honestly we were just delaying the car ride back we had.
Let’s run it back soon, yeah?!
All the best & HEAD WEST.
